Excerpt
from conversation held far too many times in bars:-

New
aquaintance:-"So; you've been
making guitars and servicing them for nearly all of your life. Since
the age of eight years old you have been fitting music strings and tuning
them. You have supplied on-the-road service to famous rock bands and
made custom instruments for some of the best-known guitar players in
the world. Your instruments can be heard on countless records and CDs.
Tell me, do you actually play the guitar yourself?"
|
| This is (unbelieveably)
a genuine question asked in conversation... |
| Well,
according to some, apparently, the answer is "Yes". The links
below are for two pieces of my playing. The first sample,
"On the Air", was written and recorded in 1989 as a private
joke to myself. It was for talk-over music in the middle of a jingle for
a local commercial FM radio station and I wanted it to be as difficult
and complex as possible and recognisable to other (experienced and accomplished)
guitarists as having been played on a ''Telecaser ® Fender'' - type guitar
- a non-trem system axe. |
| The second sample is "Plastic
Flamenco". It was recorded (admittedly multi-tracked) in 1998
using a plastic-fronted acoustic of my own invention and build. More on
this here... |
